A Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy is behind bars on federal narcotics charges. The U.S. Attorney's Office announced that Deputy Kenneth Collins and two other people were arrested today in Pasadena. Collins, of Chino, had allegedly showed up to provide "security" for the transport of cocaine and methamphetamine.
FBI investigators say Collins reportedly agreed to keep legitimate law enforcement away in exchange for payments as high as $250,000 dollars. Court papers show that he justified his high price to undercover agents by saying, "we're cops" and "all our transports make it through." A fourth man is expected to be charged in the case.
