Skid Row Activist rejects award from Eric Garcetti, rips it up in his face

Yesterday Mayor Eric Garcetti was in Skid Row to show off a new "community refreshment spot" that is meant to help the homeless.

All Garcetti cares about is the superficial and making himself look good. He tried to present an award Steve Richardon, who also known as General Dogon, a homeless activist and organizer of the Los Angeles Community Action Network.

General Dogon took the award and then ripped it up right in front of the Mayor's smug face. He said:

“This award is just like the mayor and his cronies: it’s worthless. For the last 16 years, you’ve been in leadership of City Council. You have directly criminalized Skid Row, and I cannot accept this.”
