Spying On Your Children With The Dad Podcast

Do you spy on your children?

Or do you just monitor your children?

That is kind of the issue with the term "spying," isn't it?  It is all based on what each individual determines to be over-the-line involvement.

Some people would say that checking your kid's Internet activity is totally fine, as you should know what kind of outside influences are impacting your child.

Some people even have keystroke loggers on their kid's computers, allowing them to see every word they type, no matter where they type it.

Is that acceptable?

Justin Worsham of The Dad Podcast says it all depends on what you define as spying.

You need to give them enough freedom to express themselves and make mistakes, but not so much that they ruin their lives.

Go ahead and have access to their social media accounts, but that doesn't mean you have to check their activity daily.

Know your kids and know what they are doing, but you don't have to watch every step they take, and you certainly don't need to stop them from going down every wrong path.
