BURBANK (CNS) - Writer/director Christopher Nolan's war epic ``Dunkirk'' will be returning to big screens in Los Angeles and other markets next month, giving viewers another chance to catch the film in IMAX or 70mm projection theaters.
According to Warner Bros. Pictures, screenings of the film in large- format theaters will be offered beginning Dec. 1 for limited engagements.
``With `Dunkirk,' Christopher Nolan broke new ground in the use of large- format cameras to create a theatrical event that demands to be seen on the largest possible canvas,'' said Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing and distribution for Warner Bros.
The film tells the story of efforts by the military and civilians alike to rescue British and Allied troops from the beaches of World War II Dunkirk. The film's cast features Harry Styles, Fionn Whitehead and Tom Hardy.
The film, released in July, has earned more than $500 million worldwide.
