Elderly Woman Found Lost in Cornfield Thanks to Police Drone

Officers from Randolph County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina were able to locate an 81-year-old woman with dementia lost in a cornfield.

The woman, whose name was not released, went missing last weekend. Police in the area were struggling to find her because of her odd location amongst rows of corn.

Police used an aerial drone to attempt to locate the elderly woman. Police have previously used the drone for military observations.

Around twenty-five minutes later, the officers spotted a purple dot in the brown and green colors of the cornfield, which was located a few hundred yards from her home.

The woman was not injured, the Good News Network reports.

“The family expressed their gratitude for the quick response,” Sheriff Robert Graves posted on the office’s Facebook page. “I am very proud of all of our team.”
