Guide Dogs of America are Looking for Volunteer Puppy Raisers

Dog lovers in Southern California, hold your hats because the best thing ever is happening!

The Guide Dogs of America are looking for volunteer puppy raisers!!!

What's that mean? Well, the nonprofit is looking for volunteers to provide warm, loving homes to raise 8-week-old puppies until they are about 18 months old.

At 18 months, the dogs return to the organization for formal guide dog training.

The foster families will help the puppies socialize and adjust to the important job they'll do later in life--guiding those who are blind or other wise visually impaired.

The organization plans an orientation where they teach prospective families the dos and don'ts of raising dogs.

Volunteers receive a manual, care supplies, five pounds of dog food and their new puppy.

To apply to be a puppy raiser or for more information, visit the Guide Dogs of America website HERE.
