New Study Documents Consumer Behavior When Gas Prices Fall

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose 4.1 cents today to $3.238.

The average price is 17 cents more than one week ago, 13.1 cents more than one month ago, and 33.7 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price rose 4.8 cents today to $3.226. It is 18.9 cents more than one week ago, 16.2 cents more than one month ago, and 33.6 cents higher than one year ago.

A 12-cent-a-gallon state gasoline tax increase went into effect on Wednesday.
