California Requesting Federal Aid For Wildfire Recovery

Governor Jerry Brown is requesting $7.4 billion in federal funding to help the state recover from last month's devastating wildfires.  Governor Brown is also making more than $40 million dollars in state aid available for short-term fire recovery, including hazardous waste and debris removal.

The federal dollars would go towards cleanup and environmental protection, recovery assistance programs for housing, health, and transportation, and for long-term planning and reconstruction.
