A man in Omaha, Nebraska created a mild panic at a mall after dressing up as a 'mass shooter' for Halloween. He was spotted dressed in a black hooded robe and mask and carrying a duffle bag with the barrel of a gun sticking out of it. The barrel of the gun did not have an orange tip on the end, which is normally used on toy guns.
April Baker, who snapped a photo of the man, told KMTV that, "he never should have been allowed in. The costume could trigger people who have survived a mass shooting." Dozens of children were present at the mall to participate
The costumed man was identified as Hugo Mendoza who said he didn't mean to scare anyone - at least, not for real. He said his costume was inspired by the movie The Town, which is about a longtime thief trying to balance his feelings for a bank manager connected to one of his earlier heists.
