A victim in the Las Vegas shooting who was hit in the leg stood from his hospital bed to greet the president and first lady when they arrived in his room.
President Trump and First Lady Melania arrived in Vegas on to meet with first responders and survivors from the Vegas mass shooting.
One man, Thomas Gunderson said despite his gunshot wound in his leg he had to stand to greet the president.
"I will never lie down when the President of this great country comes to shake my hand! There may be plenty of issues in this country but I will always respect my country, my president and my flag. Shot in the leg or not, I will stand to show my President the respect he deserves!"
During his visit, Trump recognized the doctors and nurses hard work in treating the hundreds injured in the shooting.
He consoled some victims and told them “we have a great country, and we’re there for you.”
