Hepatitis A Outbreak in San Diego Continues To Grow

The Hepatitis A outbreak in San Diego continues to grow.  Health officials say they have recently recorded 20 more confirmed cases of the virus, which brings the total number of those infected to 481.  The death toll from the outbreak has increased to 17.

San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer announced Wednesday the City Operations Yard will be temporarily converted into a transitional camp area for the homeless.  The idea is to get 200 people in the camp and give them access to bathrooms, showers and hand washing stations to try and stop the spread.
