A pair of twins thought to be suspects in a series of robberies were followed by police to a Santa Ana gas station where one of them was shot.

Officer's couldn't confirm if the man shot in his lower torso was Timothy Espinosa or his brother Thomas.

Police say both men are suspects in eight armed robberies at MetroPCS stores and other small businesses with a few of the hold ups turning violent.

Santa Ana Police Corporal Anthony Bertagna says the two were tracked to a motel where detectives began surveillance.
