Sad news today, as Julia Louis-Dreyfus announced publicly that she has breast cancer

The Veep star and Seinfeld alum took to Twitter to reveal the diagnosis to her 786,000+ followers:

However, the star actress has received a huge outpouring of support.

From the hundreds of thousands of Likes her Twitter announcement has already garnered, plenty of others are coming out to give their backing:

To make matters worse, fans were still reveling in the afterglow of Louis-Dreyfus' recent 2017 Emmy win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series - an honor which was received just one day before the cancer diagnosis.

The upcoming 7th season of Veep is the show's final, but HBO states that the decision to end the series had nothing to do with Julia Louis-Dreyfus' health, and released the following statement:

"Our love and support go out to Julia and her family at this time...We have every confidence she will get through this with her usual tenacity and undaunted spirit, and look forward to her return to health and to HBO for the final season of 'Veep.'"
