Governor Jerry Brown Might Want To Ban Gas-Powered Vehicles

The head of the California climate change agency says Governor Jerry Brown wants the state to eventually ban all gasoline-powered vehicles.  Air Resources Board Chair Mary Nichols told "Bloomberg News" this week that Brown has expressed interest in setting a goal to end the use of the internal combustion engine in the next decade or two, just as France, Britain, India and Norway have already done and China is considering.

The governor's press office isn't confirming it, but California regulations already require automakers to guarantee a certain percentage of the cars they sell in the state produce zero emissions.
