(Los Angeles, CA) -- The mystery of the strange light seen streaking across the Los Angeles sky is solved. A United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 rocket carrying a spy satellite lifted off at around 10:30 Saturday night from Vandenberg Air Force Base, just north of Santa Barbara.
Social media exploded with people saying the light was everything from a UFO to a missile launched from North Korea. The light was seen for a good three minutes before it vanished. U.S. officials have not revealed what the spacecraft will be doing or what its orbit will be.
