(Laguna Beach, CA) -- The organizer of a cancelled America First! rally in Laguna Beach says they'll be back next month. The "Orange County Register" reports that Johnny Benitez told police that the group's rally, planned for yesterday, was called off.
Chief Laura Farinella says they weren't sure the word had gotten out to all concerned, so they prepared for it anyway. Dozens of personnel turned out to Main Beach from agencies in Irvine, Huntington Beach, Anaheim, Newport Beach, Orange and Westminster. Farinella says the show of force was a message that "disruption and violence" won't be tolerated. The next America First! rally is scheduled for October 22nd in Laguna Beach.
