LONG BEACH (CNS) - A woman who taught at Lakewood High School is set to be arraigned today on nine sex-related counts stemming from an alleged relationship with a female student, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said.

Mary Jahn, 52, of Lakewood, is charged with four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, three counts of lewd act upon a child and two counts of oral copulation of a person under 18, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Jahn -- who was a teacher at Lakewood High School at the time -- allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female student between July 2008 and July 2011, according to Deputy District Attorney Troy Davis.

The alleged victim, now an adult, alerted authorities earlier this year about what had allegedly happened, the prosecutor said.

Jahn was arrested Wednesday by Long Beach police and has remained behind bars since then in lieu of $750,000 bail, according to jail records.

Long Beach Unified School District officials could not be reached for immediate comment on Jahn's status with the school or the district.

If convicted as charged, Jahn faces up to eight years and four months in state prison and lifetime sex offender registration, according to the District Attorney's Office.
