The Trump Administration is getting sued by the University of California thanks to DACA. UC President Janet Napolitano says the Department of Homeland Security failed to do their due diligence about the rescission of the program that defers the dportation for people brought to the U.S. illegally as children.
Napolitano says the administration failed to give the public a chance to comment on the rescission of the program before Trump made his announcement.
"It did not asses the cost of rescinding DACA to the hundreds of thousands of Dreamers or to the schools and communities in which they live, study and work."
The suit accuses the administration of violating the university, its students and employees due process. The UC system educates around 4,000 students who are in the country illegally. Napolitano has said UC campuses will continue providing services for immigrant students who do not have legal status.
