Program Helping Vets Find Jobs Reaches Goal With Three Months to Spare

The 10,000 Strong Initiative started by Mayor Eric Garcetti has already hit its goal. Now, the Mayor says he's ready to double down by offering tax breaks for companies who are willing to hire vets.

"We've never met an employer that didn't want to hire veterans, but they don't always know how to do it. And they don't know the benefits always. So, we're going to continue that work of helping folks stay in those jobs and helping more employers connect with great veterans who are ready to work."

The 10,000 Strong Initiative is a coalition of companies and community organizations who have come together to hire at least 10,000 local veterans. Now that the goal has been reached, Garcetti says there's no official updated goal, but would like to see another 10,000 vets find a job in L.A..
