Man Who Allegedly Sucker Punched Trump Supporter Tries to Flee State

A 20 year old Ohio man was arrested on suspicion of battery after allegedly sucker punching a Trump supporter at an anti-illegal immigration rally in Laguna Beach.

Richard Losey was taken in by Laguna Beach Police and he is being held in lieu of $50,000.

Police say the victim, R.C. Maxwell was speaking with a group of people at Main Beach Park when the counter-protester hit him.

The hit was caught on video and shared across social media.

Maxwell says the rally was organized in the wake of the violence in other protests like the one that happened in Virginia.

“In the aftermath of Charlottesville, people are emboldened to take a stand for what they deem as xenophobic or racist ideologies, but I think it’s gone too far. Now it’s resulting in violence — no one on the left is condemning this.”

Detectives arrested Losey as he was trying to buy a bus pass to Ohio in what they say was an attempt to flee the state to avoid criminal prosecution.
