Imam Regrets Controversial Sermon, Doesn't Apologize

(Riverside, CA)  --  A Southern California Imam is stepping back from a highly controversial sermon but he's not apologizing.  The religious director of the Islamic Center of Riverside said yesterday he deeply regrets the sermon he gave a month ago in which he called for violence against Israel.

The Imam says his words were taken out of context and says the media is focused on a few words of his half hour talk.  Religious leaders in the area believe the Imam should apologize for his comments, but the Muslim leader says he was only being passionate, not violent.
