Southern California Gets Mid-August Hint of Fall

The heat waves of June and July have given way to the unseasonably cool and damp August in Los Angeles. Drizzle fell in some areas Tuesday morning while heavy clouds and fog were seen throughout Southern California making it seem more like fall than the dog days of summer.

The National Weather Service says there will be night-through morning low clouds and fog in coastal and most valley areas through early next week. That could spoil some people's eclipse watching parties on Monday.

Temperatures are expected to go up a bit later this week, but will remain below normal in most areas.
