Monsoonal flow brings thunderstorms to Southern California

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A surge of monsoonal moisture has brought showers, thunderstorms and lightning to parts of Southern California.

The National Weather Service has posted flash flood watches Tuesday through Wednesday for the mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura counties as well as the high desert Antelope Valley.

The threat of thunderstorms will extend across the coastal waters through Thursday, and the weather service advises sailors to check forecasts before leaving harbors.
