The uncanny resemblance between Bernie Sanders and Larry David that was used on SNL is no coincidence.
On an upcoming episode of the PBS series "Finding Your Roots." David revealed the relation at an appearance at the Television Critics Assn. press tour in Beverly Hills. "He's in the line ... like a third cousin, or something," he said.
David played Sanders on SNL during the 2015-2016 election cycle.
He was un-phased by the familial connection to the subject of his parody.
"I was very happy about that," David said. "I figured there was some connection."
"I love Bernie, yes," David said. "I love Bernie."
