Saudi Woman in Miniskirt Arrested

**UPDATE AS OF 7:30AM.  Saudi Arabia has announced that the woman has been 'released without charge.'**

A woman in Saudi Arabia has been arrested after a video posted to Snapchat shows her dressed in a miniskirt and "a skimpy top".

The viral video sparked major outcry in the conservative country, which has strict rules for women in terms of their dress, ability to drive or travel abroad without permission.

The woman is only identified as Khulood and was arrested for wearing "suggestive" clothes.

The AP reports the video was shot in Ushaiager, a community in the desert region of Najd.

Najd is the home to many of the country's most conservative families.

After many called for Khulood's arrest, the General Presidency for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vices tweeted that it had "intercepted a clip of a girl in inappropriate clothing” and had opened an investigation with the “relevant authorities".
