Hot air balloons and surprise parties at Disneyland move over, this guy is bringing in a new romantic take on popping the question.
Oklahoma resident Brandon Thompson decided to lock it down with his girl, Leandria Keith, before he himself was going to get locked down.
You see, the proposal happened as the 35-year-old was being arrested on felony warrants related to charges including possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and failure to appear in court.
And they say romance is dying.
The entire event was caught on one of the arresting officers body-cams.
Muskogee Police Department spokesman Lincoln Anderson couldn't believe the story when he heard it.
“When the other officer told me he was gonna propose, I think my initial response was, ‘Are you kidding me?’”
Even the bride-to-be was taken aback by the sudden proposal.
"I knew I was gonna say yes. Like, I love him a lot. We go through our ups and downs. I guess it’s like an unconditional love, you know?”
For Keith this moment was a dream come true and for Anderson, this may be the kick Thompson needs to get on the straight and narrow.
“Maybe by him taking this step to propose to her so they can get married, he can take a step to getting his life together and putting these warrants behind him and improving the life of his kids and his future wife.”
