Alamo Drafthouse theater in Austin to hold two "Women-Only" Screenings of "Wonder Woman"

The delicate feelings of some men in Austin, Texas are being challenged after the Alamo Drafthouse theater announced it would host two "Women only" screenings for Wonder Woman. As it says on their website

“Apologies, gentlemen, but we’re embracing our girl power and saying ‘No Guys Allowed’ for one special night at the Alamo Ritz. And when we say ‘Women (and People Who Identify As Women) Only,’ we mean it. Everyone working at this screening — venue staff, projectionist, and culinary team — will be female.”

Predictably, a lot of men were angry about the XX-chromosome only event and and they posted their ire on the Alamo Drafthouse's Facebook page.

For its part, the Alamo Drafthouse was not backing down, and instead, turned their snark machine up to full power when responding to commenters who aren't happy about the gender-segregated event.

It wasn't just men who were unhappy about the girl-power event. Some Feminists weighed in on the idea as well.

Wonder Woman arrives in theaters for all genders on June 2nd.
