Mayor Eric Garcetti will formally declare April 25 "La La Land" Day with a celebration at City Hall. The date lines up with the DVD release of the movie, which was based and filmed in Los Angeles.
The festivities begin on Tuesday at 8am and the mayor’s ceremony will start around 8:30am.
People who were driving by city hall today might have caught a sneak preview of the dancers rehearsing for their performance tomorrow. Aerial dancers from Bandaloop will perform a dance medley while suspended on the side of city hall.
Director Damien Chazelle, composer Justin Hurwitz, production designers David Wasco and Sandy Reynolds-Wasco, choreographer Mandy Moore and jewelry designer Kyle Chan are all expected to attend.
