More Details Released About CA School Shooter, Victims

New details about the man suspected of shooting his estranged wife at North Park Elementary School were revealed Tuesday morning at a press conference held by San Bernardino authorities. Police Chief Jarrod Burguan says Cedric Anderson fired ten rounds from a .357-magnum revolver, killing Karen Smith, an 8-year-old student and himself in front of her class of 15 special needs students.

A second student was also wounded, but is in stable condition.

Burguan said Anderson used to be employed as a pastor and maintenance worker, but was not currently working. Smith was a special needs teacher for ten years and had been working at North Park Elementary since 2015. The pair was married in January this year after knowing each other and dating for about four years.

Anderson and Smith separated in March.

No suicide note has been found according to San Bernardino police, however, authorities say that they have seized electronic items, and a note addressing items Anderson felt needed closure. The note also apparently contained Anderson's thoughts on how he had been disrespected.
