A pro-Trump march will be held this weekend and is expected to bring in supporters and protesters alike.
The Make America Great Again (MAGA) rally will be at Bolsa Chica State Beach in Huntington Beach this Saturday.
The pro-Trump participants will start their walk near Warner Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway and go along the two-mile bike path.
March organizer Jennifer Sterling says many of the expected 3,000 participants will be women, children and the elderly.
With the political climate being tense, she says she hopes the attendees will be safe as the march is intended to honor those who've served and for patriotism.
“We need healing and we need building...we want to have a dialogue.”
Another rally is being planned for that day, planning on protesting the original event.
Counter rally organizer Byron Lopez says he expects a few hundred protesters to join their efforts.
"We aren't going to start fights, but we are going to try to stop them from completing their march."
The MAGA rally was originally planned to happen near the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa.
Officials say they had safety concerns after a rally held at the Pacific Amphitheatre last year turned violent when Trump supporters and anti-Trump protesters fought each other.
State Parks Captain Kevin Pearsall said extra staff will be added and they are coordinating with the Huntington Beach police to deter any violent breakouts.
