Folsom elementary school bans tag

Playing tag as a kid was great fun.  It's a timeless game!  But an elementary school in Folsom has banned tag because of "altercations" and "injuries."

School Principal David Frankel sent out a message on Friday, saying:

“Students were instructed that physical contact including tag games, touch football, etc. were not allowed on the yard.”

If a student breaks the rule, they'll get a warning, then a referral, and then a parent-teacher conference.

Fourth grader Mallory Giddens:

“My principal, he doesn’t want us to have tag at school because people, they touch too hard.  Sometimes they push people over and my principal doesn’t want anyone getting hurt.”

Just let the kids play tag and deal with the riff raff on a case-by-case basis.  Banning tag for elementary kids?

What the heck are they supposed to do at recess?  Kids run around and chase each other.  Let them be kids.

All of the fun continues to be sucked from this world.
