Three-Year-Old Comforts Terminally Ill Brother

A mother of two captured a sweet moment between her two young children during their vacation.

Sheryl Blanksby's three-year old son William was on the couch with his 11-month old baby brother Thomas comforting him.

She says she walked in the room expecting there to be a tiny disaster waiting for her.

“I was expecting my baby to be covered in Nutella or something but instead I saw preschooler is telling his baby brother ‘Kuya (big brother) is here. Everything is OK’.”

Blanksby and her husband Jon were given the news that Thomas had a malignant rhabdoid tumor and his diagnoses was terminal.

That form of cancer is most commonly found in toddlers and infants.

Blanksby has been writing about Thomas' illness on her blog.

She says her family has not been given an exact time frame for how much time they have left with their baby.

“My heart breaks for every big smile he gives me because I know how much I will miss it when it’s all gone...when you think my heart can’t take it anymore, it shatters even more when he gives his begging look when he’s in pain.”

The photo of the brothers has gone viral and the GoFundMe page set up by family friends to raise funds so they can make as many memories as possible with Thomas has blown up.
