HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - "Access Hollywood" host Mario Lopez will receive the Humanitarian Award for the 92nd Anniversary of The Hollywood Christmas Parade, organizers announced Wednesday.

The TV personality, whose new film "Once Upon a Christmas Wish" debuts Dec. 7 on The Great American Family Channel, will ride in the parade along with his wife, actress and TV personality Courtney Lopez, and his children.

Lopez recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In addition to hosting NBC's "Access Hollywood" and "Access Daily," he hosts the national iHeart radio programs "On with Mario & Courtney Lopez" and "iHeartRadio Countdown with Mario Lopez."

He has supported numerous non-profit organizations for decades, including The Boys and Girls Clubs of America -- which he was a member of as a child -- Wounded Warriors, Best Friends Animal Rescue and Providence Hospital.

He also recently launched The Mario Lopez Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through education, healthy lifestyles and community support. The foundation works with title one schools, The Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and local communities to provide children with the resources they need to succeed.

"Education opens doors, and a healthy lifestyle lays the groundwork for success in every area of life," Lopez said. "I was fortunate to have family, mentors and opportunities that kept me on the right path, and I want to make sure every child has access to the same chances to dream big and achieve their goals."

Actor Jeremy Renner will serve as the grand marshal for the parade, whose official name is The 92nd Anniversary of The Hollywood Christmas Parade Supporting Marine Toys for Tots.

The procession will make its way through the streets of Hollywood beginning at 6 p.m. on Dec. 1.

In addition to Renner, the lineup will also include Colin Egglesfield, James Tupper and Jeannie Mai, with more participants to be named later.

The parade, which culminates with an annual appearance by Santa Claus, will be shown on The CW Network on Dec. 14.
