After a significant landslide happened in Los Angeles County over the weekend, at least 12 Californian families were required to leave their homes.

The terrain in Rolling Hills Estates began to move on Saturday, which prompted officials to issue a warning after residents reported hearing "cracking and popping noises" on Thursday.

According to L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn, the warning was followed the next morning by an order to evacuate after "significant land movement overnight" destroyed "several" homes. Hahn continues, "Several additional houses have foundation and external wall problems.

Los Angeles County Fire Department reported workers were on the area on Monday to evaluate any potential damage to gas and power lines.
