INDUSTRY (CNS) - A passenger was killed and the driver was injured when a vehicle involved in a police pursuit crashed into a trash truck in the city of Industry, authorities said today.
The crash occurred about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on Workman Mill Road at the Pomona (60) Freeway, according to Deputy Eric Ortiz of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.
Sheriff's deputies were called to assist investigators with a regional crime task force who had been following a suspect vehicle when the driver refused to stop, Ortiz said.
The reason for the surveillance or the nature of the task force were not available.
The passenger was a man, according to the coroner's office.
