Hester Ford, the oldest living American has passed away at 116 years old.
Ford was born in South Carolina in 1904 and grew up on a farm
According to a report, she had 12 children, 48 grandchildren, and 108 great-grandchildren.
Her family says Ford was known to be kind...she was took care of sick neighbors, fed the hungry and kept her doors open for anyone who needed her help.
Last year, Mecklenburg County in North Carolina declared Sept. 1, 2020 as "Mother Hester McCardell Ford Day," to honor her.
