In the face of what activist groups are calling the “height of hypocrisy” singer Erykah Badu has taken to Twitter to launch a counteroffensive to the wave of criticism she has received for a recent performance the dictator of Swaziland, King Mswati III.

Badu joins a long list of celebrities who have performed for dictators including; Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé, begging the question – How can celebrities who fight so hard for American civil rights justify performing for such vile human rights abusers?
