According to the LA Times, LA County is considering a proposal to perform background checks on ice cream truck vendors and those in other businesses that sell to unsupervised children.

Supervisor Don Knabe said, "As the ultimate safety net for our most vulnerable residents, we have a responsibility to protect our young children."

Officials are pushing for mandating fingerprinting and getting a criminal history report for those seeking licenses for businesses that serve children.
