As people continue to express their outrage in Ferguson, Missouri over the death of Michael Brown, it has, at times, gotten out of control.

Police have responded to this violence in an attempt to restore order to the community.  Some say their response has been appropriate, others say it's 'military like'.

Over the weekend, Missouri Governor, Jay Nixon, criticized the "over-militarization" of police there saying that in some instances, the use of force to control the situation is too heavy handed, too 'aggressive.'

Back in 2006, Radley Balko did a report for the CATO Institute on this issue.  The report is called "Overkill: The Rise of Paramilitary Police Raids in America."
