TECHmunch Food Blogger Conference Returns to Los Angeles October 10
Los Angeles – The traveling TECHmunch Conference returns home to Los Angeles October 10 to give local food bloggers a uniquely delicious opportunity to learn from the region’s most accomplished culinary and digital media experts.
The full-day of workshops, panels, demos and networking sessions will be held at Cross Campus in Santa Monica (929 Colorado Avenue) and presented under the theme “Beyond the Blog,” in recognition of how food bloggers are increasingly using all sorts of publishing platforms to post content and grow their audience.
“Food blogging is in the midst of a huge transformation, and TECHmunch is responding with the latest tools bloggers need to create great content and turn their passion into profit,” said Babette Pepaj, TECHmunch producer and founder of Los Angeles-based BakeSpace.com. “We’re thrilled to be back home and to team up with so many of L.A.’s most dynamic culinary content creators.”
Sessions will include a recipe development panel with Neil Saavedra (Host of KFI’s “The Fork Report”) and Noelle Carter (L.A. Times Test Kitchen), a live-streaming video workshop with Amanda Oleander (the #1 content creator on Periscope) and Victoria Franz (the 6th most popular personality on Meerkat), an Instagram workshop with Catherine McCord (author of Weelicious), a YouTube panel with Nadia G. (host of “Bitchin’ Kitchen” on The Cooking Channel) and Shira Lazar (host of WhatsTrending.com), and an introduction to podcasting with Evan Kleiman (host of KCRW’s “Good Food”).
In all, 11 dynamic sessions will feature more than 30 local experts. There will also be tastings, demos and lots of time devoted to networking.
The full conference agenda and list of speakers is available at http://techmunchconf.com/event/techmunch-la/.
“Unlike the big destination food blogger conferences, TECHmunch travels from city to city with a distinctly grassroots focus,” Pepaj explained. “Our format is fast-paced and dedicated entirely to making food blogging a deliciously rewarding experience.”
The October 10 Los Angeles edition of the conference represents a homecoming for TECHmunch, which was launched in 2010 by L.A.- based food social network and DIY cookbook app publisher BakeSpace.com. To date, more than 20 TECHmunch conferences have been held in cities across North America.
Pepaj added, “L.A. is home to an amazingly passionate community of culinary content creators. Our goal is to give them a conference all their own that doesn’t cost a fortune to attend.”
Tickets for TECHmunch Los Angeles start at $99 and may be purchased at http://www.eventbrite.com/o/bakespace-inc-6300165597.
