On Wednesday, Gawker reporter J.K. Trotter wrote an article saying Fox News anchor Shepard Smith, “Shep” as they like to refer to him at the network, was “demoted” to his current shift because of his personal life.

The personal life part came in, according to Gawker, when Smith approached Fox News President Roger Ailes about publicly coming out of the closet.  Basically, Roger said no, Fox execs got spooked and Smith wound up on the new shift.

Now the Wrap has posted a memo from Smith to the crew saying it ain’t so.  And he takes a shot at CNN.  It’s all low on the totem pole of what’s going on out there, but, hey, it’s something to talk about.

Newsteam- Good morning from Los Angeles.

I came to fox news 18 years ago because they agreed to hire me. I've stayed with fox news because of my relationship with Roger Ailes. He's my boss, my friend and my steadfast supporter both professionally and personally.

Things you might read today are horseshit. As phony as 24-hour breaking news on The Plane Channel.

Stand down.

Big love. See yall Monday… Unless breaking news changes everything.
