A doctor in Italy says full body transplants may be possible in the next couple of years.

Dr. Sergio Canavero is working on the procedure and says he'll put a team together later this year to work on the unheard of project.

Canavero says he'd like to be able to perform the procedure to help people with terminal illnesses live longer. But, he says, if society doesn't want it, he won't do it.

A similar procedure was tried on a monkey in the 1970s.
