The Feds have lost track of more than 6,000 foreign nationals who are in the U.S. on student visas.

Homeland Security says it issues more than 1 million student visas each year and last year 58,000 students overstayed their visas.

Peter Edge, with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told ABC News his greatest concern is those who are unaccounted for could be here to do us harm.

Homeland Security says the missing 6,000 have been referred to agents because of possible security concerns.
