The FBI is reportedly hiring a contractor to review good and bad publicity.

The feds haven’t said why such information is needed, but said in a statement that the agency's public affairs office needs a contractor to help monitor "breaking news, editorials, long-form journalism projects and the larger public conversation about law enforcement."

It's similar to what happened following the BP oil spill. The government wanted to know what the public thought of its response to the crisis.
