Imagine having just made it through one of the biggest storms in history.
You're bruised and battered.
Food, water, medicine, and supplies are sporadic at best.
And then, days later, a miracle: a rescue ship on the horizon.
But we all know that fate can have the cruelest sense of humor, and it was well on display at St. Thomas Island in the wake of Hurricane Irma.
The rescue ship, as those stranded would learn, had been sent by Marriott Hotels. Unfortunately, its sole mission to collect only current Marriott guests, and transport them to nearby Puerto Rico, despite having over a thousand open seats.
