15 pounds of frozen Italian meats crashes on family's roof

A South Florida family is dealing with a strange meat mystery after they woke up to a loud thud, and discovered that several packages of frozen Italian sausage landed on their roof.

Travis Adair said he and his family were sleeping when they heard the ruckus:

"It was like thunder, and it awakened me out of a sleep. We got up, found two packages of sausage on our side yard, and then we were like, 'OK, well, we got to go on the roof and check and see if we find more of this stuff.'"

Up on the roof they found 3 more packages of the Italian pork sausage, bringing the total to 15 pounds of sausage found in bags marked William Land Service, a land-clearing company in Alabama.

The Adairs were of course baffled by the meat disturbance, so their son Austin called William Land Service to see what happened:

"I called them and the guy had no idea what I was talking about and probably thought I was crazy."

Austin sent the company pictures of the sausages, but still hasn't heard anything back from them. The family is working out their own theories. Austin's mom, Jennie, said:

"I thought possibly it had fallen from a plane. I thought possibly it was something to do with a drug deal or something. I would love to know what really happened, because it's just so, so odd."

Odd indeed. Perhaps it was the friendly neighborhood meat man making his midnight delivery? Or perhaps it was a meat tornado?
