LAPD Looking for Robbery Suspects in Bird Poop Scam

Los Angeles police are looking for two people wanted for stealing from others after telling them they had bird poop on them and offering to wipe it off.

LAPD Officer Mike Lopez says the thefts have been happening in Hollywood and the department released video of the incidents to the public.

In each theft, the victims were approached from behind and the suspects, a man and a woman, toss some kind of liquid on the back of their clothes.

The suspects then approach the victim separately and offer to wipe the "bird poop" off of them.

Authorities say that it's during the exaggerated wiping is when items are taken.

One 71 year old victim had his wallet taken and a 20 year old had their camera stolen.

Police describe the first suspect as a Hispanic man with black hair, brown eyes and 5 feet 7 inches tall and between the age of 30 and 40 and weighing almost 180 pounds.

The second suspect is described as a Hispanic woman with black hair who stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and aged between 35 to 40.
