Steve Bannon's New Interview is all Over the Place

In a new interview with Prospect.org writer Robert Kuttner, Steve Bannon is all over the place in his words.

In a few highlights from the interview the White House chief strategist gave (that he didn't realize he was giving).

He had told his associates he admired the author's stance on China and wanted to call Kuttner and discuss his work.

What he didn't think about was the comments he'd make would turn into an editorial that would anger many in Bannon's circle.

He undermined President Trump's stance on North Korea, referring to Trump's threats of fire and fury with;

"There's no military solution [to North Korea's nuclear threats], forget it. Until somebody solves the part of the equation that shows me that ten million people in Seoul don't die in the first 30 minutes from conventional weapons, I don't know what you're talking about, there's no military solution here, they got us."

Bannon commented about the fights he has with colleagues and the personnel changes he's been making.

"That's a fight I fight every day here," he said. "We're still fighting. There's Treasury and [National Economic Council chair] Gary Cohn and Goldman Sachs lobbying."

"I'm changing out people at East Asian Defense; I'm getting hawks in. I'm getting Susan Thornton [acting head of East Asian and Pacific Affairs] out at State."
