Red Cross Wants Video Game Characters Tried For War Crimes

The Red Cross says war crimes committed in video games should be "punished."

Simulated soldiers should have to follow real-life international humanitarian law, and if they don't, the Red Cross says they should face war crimes charges inside the game. The International Committee says certain game scenarios could lead to a trivialization of war crimes; and kids may start thinking that shooting civilians, torture, and killing prisoners are okay.
The Red Cross says it's not concerned with fantasy games, just games with realistic depictions of battles and war. It doesn't want games banned or censored, and didn't mention any titles by name.
