One Oscar nomination has been pulled.

The song "Alone Yet Not Alone" from the movie of the same name surprised a lot of people when it was nominated for Best Original Song since hardly anyone had even seen the movie.

And this week Oscar organizers rescinded the nomination when they found out the song's composer, Bruce Broughton, had emailed voting members to promote it, and that's a big no no with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

Broughton is a former Academy governor and a current board member of the Academy's music branch executive committee.

No additional song will be nominated, so there will only be four contenders vying for the Oscar on March 2nd.
